Quick start: The drawer

This article describes how to use the drawer with some descriptive use case examples.

Updated over 2 years ago

The drawer shows all your inputs to the selected stage or process. The top-right corner shows of the drawer shows the total impact of your selection. Each stage have their own drawer.

This is an example of the drawer of the Production stage. The top-right value shows the total impact of the selected stage or process.

Processes tab

The drawer opens with the Processes tab on the right by default.

Here you can add processes and edit how much of that input your LCA model needs.

  • Each time you edit, the system will recalculate realtime and update the diagram on the left.

  • The specific values of the impacts of each process are shown on the right and represented in the diagram.

Exchanges with Nature tab

The elementary flows are the core of Earhtster's calculations that mostly happen behind the scenes.

The Exchanges with Nature tab lets you edit the list of elementary flows that have a direct onsite impact on nature, i.e., your product's or service's direct emissions.

As with processes, you can edit the values directly here and immediately see the effects on your cycle.

Info tab

The Info tab lets you edit data about your process. The drawer will adapt to the type of process you have selected.

In the description, you can record any assumptions regarding this process, for example, notes on why you selected it, how you gathered the value for it, any conversions, etc.

You can also use action buttons to perform the most common actions, like swapping with other processes from the database or deleting a process.
