Import other users' cycle as a custom process to use them as templates

Updated over a year ago

You can use public cycles created by other users as a starting point for your own cycles. This way users can share their cycle as. template for other to use.

Example cycle: Greenhouse Protocol (GHG) template created for carbon accounting and reporting scope 1, scope 2 and scope 3 emissions.

Use the GHG template for finding out your scope 1, 2 and scope 3 emissions.

  • The template is modelled with bundles for the main scopes and their categories without any process data so it will look empty when imported.

  • In the info section you'll find useful information about the needed data for each category.

Importing a cycle from different organziation as custom process

Step 1: Create a new cycle or use an existing one

Step 2: Search "GHG" in the "ADD NEW" process search

Step 3: Click the "ADD PROCESS" button for "Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) template" (Origin: Earthster). Check the cycle's description to ensure it's the right cycle

Step 4: After the cycle has been added click the information button in the Original cycle section.

Step 5: Click the button "IMPORT AS CUTOM PROCESS" (and accept the warning).

Once you click the button "YES, IMPORT" you will create a copy of the selected cycle. You will be able to edit your own copy. Any changes done to the original cycle will not be transferred to your copy after the importing.

TIP: You can move bundles and inputs to different locations to better describe your product or reporting need.
